Common problems of twin-screw extrusion equipment
1. The main motor cannot be started
Cause 1: Startup program error.
Treatment: check the procedure and restart the machine according to the correct startup sequence.
Cause 2: There is a problem with the main motor thread, and whether the fuse is burnt out.
Treatment: check the main motor circuit. Check whether the lubricating oil pump is started, and check the status of the interlocking device related to the main motor. If the induction power of the inverter is not fully discharged, turn off the main power supply and wait for 5 minutes before starting. Check whether the emergency button is reset.
2. Abnormal sound occurs to the main motor
Cause 1: Main motor bearing is damaged
Treatment: replace the main motor bearing.
Cause 2: One of the silicon controlled rectifier circuits of the main motor is damaged.
Treatment: check the silicon controlled rectifier circuit and replace the silicon controlled element if necessary
3. The main current is unstable
Cause 1: Uneven feeding.
Treatment: check the feeder and remove the fault.
Cause 2: The main motor bearing is damaged or poorly lubricated.
Treatment: repair the main motor and replace the bearing if necessary.
Cause 3: Whether a section of heater works normally, and replace the heater if necessary.
Treatment: check whether each heater works normally, and replace the heater if necessary.
Cause 4: The screw adjusting pad is wrong, or the phase is wrong, and the element interferes.
Treatment: check the adjusting pad and pull out the screw to check whether the screw interferes.
4. Unstable head pressure
Cause 1: The speed of the main motor is uneven.
Treatment: check the main motor control system and bearing.
Cause 2: The speed of the feeding motor is uneven, and the feeding amount fluctuates.
Handling: check the feeding system motor and control system.
Maintenance of twin-screw extruder
1. Use synthetic gear oil
The gearbox is the heart of the twin screw extruder. Therefore, we should prevent the gearbox from having problems. The use of synthetic gearbox oil can better protect the gears.
Advantages of synthetic gear oil: more greasy, resulting in less friction; Gears, bearings and seals will last longer; Gear running temperature is lower and quieter; Synthetic oil does not lose viscosity due to machine shearing, and it maintains high viscosity at high temperature.
2. Clean the machine frequently
The purpose of machine cleaning is to remove the residual materials in the extruder and die, which avoids time-consuming disassembly and cleaning. Cleaning materials are often divided into two categories: chemical cleaning agents and mechanical friction cleaning agents. Many cleaning agents have both chemical and friction functions. The chemical cleaning agent will react with the plastic residue to separate it from the mechanical surface.
